Hello, I hired iRelocation System of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, moving company to move the belongings from my two bedroom apartment from the state of Pennsylvania to Colorado July 28, 2017. At this time I was quoted a total moving cost estimate of $1250.00. After paying a $315.00 deposit over the phone via credit card, we agreed on an August 1, 2017 pick-up date, at that time, I would pay half in the amount $600.00 via money order and the other half would be due upon delivery in Colorado.
The next day, August 2, 2017, I received an email from an iRelocation representative, Nicole White, phone number (768) 212-8212. The email advised iRelocation would not start the delivery process until an additional $3,000 payment was remitted via wire transfer from my bank account to theirs. I was completely taken by surprise after thinking I was only going to be paying the $1250.00 I was originally quoted. After contacting the office, I was advised because there were pieces of furniture left off the original quote, this was the reason for the additional cost. I failed to list my sectional sofa (2 pieces), a rocking chair, my daughter’s toy car, stroller, a computer desk and chair, and two televisions.
According to the iRelocation contract, if there are items not listed on the inventory list upon arrival of iRelocation staff, the owner is to be notified of additional costs and must be agreed to in writing before the truck is loaded or moved from the initial location or the original quote will stand. I did not give this company consent to bill me anything other than what was discussed in the initial quote nor did I ever agree in writing to this astronomical extra cost. It was iRelocation’s responsibility to contact me upon any discrepancies, which the company staff failed to do.
As of now, the company is holding my belongings ransom until a payment of $3,000.00 is remitted. I have spoken to the sales associate that initially finalized this quote, Jose Perez (phone number 954-952-4828) seeking the address of where my entire household belongings are being stored so I can arrange a pick up and end all business dealings with iRelocation, but have only been given a city and state of a warehouse. As well, I have asked several times for the contact information of his immediate supervisor or the corporate office contact information and have been refused this information.
Upon looking on the website of iRelocation and calling the numbers listed, the calls are forwarded to a cell phone with a recorded message that the phone number has a voicemail that has not been setup and ends the call. I have asked that he send me a copy of the signed agreement where I signed agreeing to pay an extra $3000.00. I was sent an email with attachments that cannot be opened. I was not at the residence when iRelocation arrived to pick up my belongings, I had a friend handle this for me in my absence, so I am certain iRelocation cannot provide the requested document. Jose now, will not answer my phone calls. Upon pick up, a copy of the driver’s license was taken which I will send as an attachment including the license plate number for the Budget truck iRelocation staff arrived in. I'll also include the receipt for the estimate before pickup and after pickup. I have and am enduring extreme stress and anxiety behind this entire ordeal.
At this point, I just want my and my family’s belongings returned. I feel I have been frauded and I do not want this to happen to other families. If you can offer any assistance in this matter, my family and I would be forever grateful. Budget truck license plate # 3AL625 If you have any questions or require any additional information, please contact me via email cxbrown1@gmail.com or by phone (((REDACTED))). Thank you in advance. Humbly submitted, Courtney Brown
